17 Chaperone Service at Camp Cornwall Summer Camp - Porthpean Outdoor

Chaperone Service

Let us take the strain

Introducing our new Chaperone Service

Getting you to Camp safely

Aside from all the cool, fun stuff, we must also consider the work commitments of you lovely parents in our programmes.

Our add-on chaperone service offers a fab solution to transporting our guests to Cornwall… an accompanied service on board the London Paddington-Penzance train line.

On Day 1 (Sunday) of your chosen Camp Cornwall week, a Camp Cornwall Group Leader will greet your child, help with luggage and settle them into the journey.  As you wave goodbye, we set off with your child securely aboard, making our merry way down to Cornwall, with our Group Leader building the excitement for camp.  Your child’s return journey will be the following Friday, again accompanied by a Group Leader.

In preparation for your adventure, your Group Leader will arrange a video call with you to put a face to the name.  On the journey days, they will then stay in touch with you throughout to ensure you are kept abreast of the ETA.

All Group Leaders are experienced members of staff with enhanced DBS checks, first aid training, and safeguarding training.

The chaperone service is available for our 5-Night Camps only- for arrival on Sunday and departure for Friday.

Wherever possible we use a direct service.  We offer the service from/to the following train stations:

Taunton£30 each way13:4013:40

*Please note the chaperone service charge is in addition to the cost of your child’s train fare.  You are responsible for booking your child’s tickets as required.  Please contact us in advance to confirm seat numbers to ensure the Camp Cornwall guests are grouped together.

For one-way journeys, we are happy to recommend overnight accommodation nearby for any parents that wish to enjoy a night or two in Cornwall themselves before collection on departure day/after drop-off on arrival day.

Please note all collection and pick-up points and times are conditional on bookings and are subject to change.  The return journey will require an early departure from camp at 11am, with a packed lunch being enjoyed on the train.
