Porthpean Beach is situated on the south coast of Cornwall, snuggly nestled within St Austell Bay. The beach forms part of the South West coast path, with access to Duporth and Charlestown to the north and Black Head and Trenarren to the south.
This beautiful, sheltered beach is widely regarded as one of Cornwall’s leading beaches for watersports, with paddleboarding, kayaking, and sea swimming remaining popular throughout the year. Paddling out from the beach offers a variety of archways, stacks, caves, and secluded beaches to explore, many of which can only be accessed from the ocean. There is also a wealth of wildlife to discover, both in and out of the water.
